It’s not hard to see what’s been on designer’s minds lately: sexy slits! This bold trend flooded the runways for both Fall 2012 and Spring 2013, encouraging brides to show a little more leg. We love these dresses by Monique Lhuillier, Ines di Santo, and Oscar de la Renta; which showcase this trend while still keeping it classy.
Slits are typically reserved for skin tight frocks, but we are now even seeing this trend appear in ball gowns. Not ready to bare it all for your ceremony? Try changing into a sexier dress for the reception. If you’re not on board with the short reception dress trend, a dress with a slit up the leg makes it easier to walk and dance, shows off your fabulous shoes, yet doesn’t show quite as much as a short dress would.

Wow! I love seeing different styles. These dresses are definitely sexy. I didn’t even know this trend existed. While I think the dresses are gorgeous, I don’t think I’d be comfortable flaunting a side slit on my wedding day! Short reception dress is a different story though. Not sure what I’ll be doing for my wedding though.
I love being kept up to date on wedding fashion trends. I never would have thought a wedding dress would have a slit but I actually like the idea. The bride’s shoes usually are never seen with the long ball gown dresses so the slit is a great idea to show those beautiful shoes. I don’t care for the higher slits but I do like the gown in the middle of the second row.
