When the perfect couple comes to us with a perfect vision for their wedding, those are the best possible days. The first day that I walked this property with Amanda and her mom, I knew that I wanted to plan design this wedding, big time. When Amanda shared her vision for a Spanish style wedding at her parents home in Loomis, my heart skipped a beat. Her parents home, which had a Spanish style all of it’s own and is set on a property with it’s own private lake was going to be the perfect backdrop for this soiree.
During the design process, the one thing that I loved most was that Amanda was not afraid of color – or pattern or texture. We used a combination of seven different linens for this event and too many flower varieties and colors to even count. We completely threw the idea of choosing a few wedding colors out the window and simply chose what felt right with practically no limits. Now, that is a dream in my book.
Milou and Olin Photography was on hand to capture this day, and I couldn’t be happier with the images.
During the ceremony, Amanda and John exchanged vows with each other, and then Amanda shared some vows with John’s daughter which was one of the sweetest moments on record {and for the record, yes I sure did cry my eyes out!}.
Amanda and John also had very open minds when it came to entertainment, desserts and food. We enlisted one of my favorite Spanish Guitarists to play for the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner which was so romantic and beautiful. Later in the evening, our amazing DJ moved the dance floor into full swing.
Amanda and John chose Paella, which was presented beautifully to their guests, for their main entree. The presentation was a feast for the eyes and everyones bellies. And then for dessert…ice cream cake along with mini churros served with ice cream and chocolate ganache for dipping. To accompany all of this amazing fare, we had Craft Beers {compliments of Amanda’s family brewery, Knee Deep} and sangria free flowing throughout the evening.
As the sun went down, and the lights in the tent came up, it was truly magical. {And, by the way, designing this tent was by far one of my favorite opportunities I had all year.} Guests danced the night away and enjoyed mingling and celebrating on this incredible October evening. Everything about this day just seemed perfect.
Thank you Amanda and John for allowing 2Chic Events to be a part of your day! Cheers to many years of happiness and love!
XO,
Aimee
