Today, I am so excited to share the beautiful Citizen Hotel Wedding of Carmelita and Eric. Although this wedding took place almost 1 year ago, this is our first time sharing these beautiful images on our site. And, the timing couldn’t be more perfect, as I just found out that these two welcomed a baby girl just yesterday!
When I opened this folder of images to post here, I admittedly became a little sentimental and a little sappy. Carmelita and Eric were such a pleasure to work with. From beginning to end, we had a great time working on their planning and design together. They were so easy, so open to ideas and truly happy to be embarking on the rest of their lives together.
The Venue…
Carmelita and Eric chose The Cathedral of the Sacrament for their ceremony, which included Filipino traditions. Their stunning reception followed immediately after on The Citizen Hotel’s rooftop terrace. Set in the heart of downtown Sacramento and just a few short blocks from each other, these two venues were a perfect choice.
The Design…
Carmelita and Eric chose a palate of navy, gray, marsala and blush, accented with silver metallics. The main element that we carried through the event design was a beautiful watercolor floral pattern. We discovered this artwork that we incorporated into the design while perusing save the dates and invitations for their day. This bold and beautiful pattern, mixed with the navy and gray tones created a strong, yet subtly beautiful pop of color.And, of course on the wedding day, we tied their fresh florals in with that pattern with the help of Bloomers Floral Design. Guests could be overheard commenting on the beautiful details of this day throughout the evening.

“My husband and I definitely lucked out being able to work with Aimee for our wedding in October 2016. We had booked the partial planning service but I feel like she helped with a large amount of the planning, which was such a plus on my part. She loves what she does and it helps to work with someone that doesn’t make it seem like you’re forcing them to do something.
I could go on and on about how great she is, but I will just highlight one moment that she saved me during the planning process. I was extra stressed with some of the vendors and our venue had changed to a new venue coordinator, who was difficult to work with. Aimee offered to communicate to the venue coordinator on my part so that our requests were acknowledge in a timely-manner. Aimee was on our side every time we met with the venue coordinator because I felt so uncomfortable working with the new one.
On the day of our wedding, Aimee and her team were awesome in putting the little details together and keeping it stress-free so we can focus on the celebration! We are still in contact with her even after almost 3 months after our wedding, which is another reason why I think she goes above and beyond being a Wedding Planner. I would definitely recommend Aimee and 2Chic Events for your wedding planning and design services!”
