Amanda Spyksma, how do I love thee?…If I counted the ways, I’d be here all day.
Planning Amanda & Alex’s Old Sugar Mill wedding was truly a blast from beginning to end. And as you’ll see in the following post, these two are beautiful people, both on the inside and the outside. One of the many high points of my 2011 wedding season occurred during Amanda & Alex’s wedding, and it was a sweet moment, indeed. After spending a year and a half working on the planning of this wedding, the room was set and I brought Amanda & Alex in for a reveal. When Amanda walked into the room she immediately burst into tears and, in her best crying voice, told me that it was even better than she had imagined and that she loved it, and me. She was so incredibly, genuinely happy.
Although I’ve had similar reactions during room reveals, the sincerity behind Amanda’s reaction is what really touched me. We were nearing the end of the wedding season, and frankly, I needed a moment like that more than ever after two very tough weddings the 2 weekends prior. My eyes welled up with the biggest tears, my heart swelled and I was reminded of why I love what I do. It was a powerful moment for me. So, thank you Amanda & Alex for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. You are two of the kindest, sweetest people I have ever met and you have made my day a few more times since that day. You’re just awesome!
Jessica from Stout Photography captured the day so perfectly. I can feel the emotions all over again when I look at these images.
