Brittany and John have the sweetest love story. And, an incredible engagement story {picture a rustic barn on her parents property filled with candlelight}, so it only made sense that their wedding story would be just as magical. From the first time I met them and heard their story, I could see that they were going to be an amazing couple to work with.
Brittany and John were looking for an intimate space for 200+ to host their event with just over 6 months to plan, which is a tough task to achieve. Enter Viaggio, one of our favorite venues to work. With their expansive lawns, their quaint Main Street area that feels exactly like Tuscany and their warm reception space, this was the perfect fit. And, so it began.
Brittany’s obsession with stripes runs just about as deep as mine. You can dive in to either of our closets, office supplies, home decor {we probably also both insist on striped straws to drink from} and find just how deep it runs. When Brittany came to me with a Pinterest board simply named “Stripes”, I fell a little deeper in love with her. This also gave us a fun opportunity to bring some customized decor into their wedding design. {More about the design elements below}.
And, Brittany herself was a stunner on her big day. Those of you know that know me know I am a sap. And, yes – I cried multiple times on this day. Because this love between Brittany and John is so sweet..and I love what I do the most when I have beautiful clients like this. And, stripes…

How we created a design that told their story:
Working with a color palette of bold navy and white stripes, along with soft blush accents, my mission was to design a wedding that showed how beautiful this couple is along with how strong their love is. I believe that the combination of soft, gorgeous flowers and feminine accents incorporated in with the strong stripe pattern was the perfect way to so this. Brittany and John are also both Ag teachers and are tied to the farming community, so we looked for fun ways to include some items in the design that reflected their roots as well.
We created large drum lamp shades with navy and white stripes to accent the reception room, built a custom ceremony backdrop with bold stripes and a crystal chandelier, used stripes in the design of the cake and also had custom striped head table linens made by Wildflower Linens. So. Much. Fun. to design. I love how we were able to bring in this element, in just the right places, without having it overwhelm the room or the design. This allowed us to bring in some contrasting softer touches that really stood out, like the cow bell table numbers, gorgeous flowers and sweet tabletop details.
