Sometimes when a couple walks through the door for a consultation you can tell how things are going to go right away. My first thought with Nancy + Keaton was “Oh, this is going to be fun!” I love that Nancy + Keaton wanted to create a wedding that felt a lot like home. Along the way, we found clever ways to infuse their personalities into the design and the events of the day. Every single detail, down to the signature cocktails that they chose, felt like a warm hug from this amazing couple.
When guests arrived, they were greeted with a ceremony space that felt like an outdoor garden. We created a floral lined aisle, and their vows were nestled up against the backdrop of the lush green trees. Next, guests made their way to the historic ballroom for cocktail hour, offering them an opportunity to see just what the venue is all about, with amazing displays of art to enjoy while they enjoyed drinks and bites. Finally, guests were invited into the Courtyard where they would dine under a canopy of lights seated at tabletops that included navy linens, beautiful organic feeling centerpieces and a little additional surprise from the bride and groom in the form of dinosaurs on the tables {one of Nancy’s favorite things}.
Guests were later surprised with a traditional Chinese Lion Dance, a first dance song played by Keaton’s dad, some incredible toasts and a night of dancing with Lovefool playing hits that you can’t help but dance to.
