4th of July Party at the Wendell’s

I hope everyone enjoyed a happy and safe 4th of July weekend! Ours was packed full with a trip to the rodeo, a fabulous dinner party, lots of swimming and a great pool party and BBQ to cap it all off. 4th of July serves as my mid-season break ~ it's a time to refresh, reconnect with family and friends and most importantly relax! It's a rare occasion when I set work aside and I'm pretty darn proud of how well I did this weekend!

It's not often that I share personal photos and information on my blog BUT….I got a new lens for my camera {yippee!!} and we had such a blast hanging out with a few close friends and family yesterday I thought it would be fun to snap some pics to share.

I had a little bit of fun decorating with flowers from my garden, old vintage bottles from a garage sale and some fun striped ribbon.

The pool was packed with kids and dogs all day long and we enjoyed the company of our closest friends and family. The guys got into some competitive games of horse shoes and when the sun went down, we had ourselves a crazy fireworks extravaganza! As you can see, we don't mess around over here ~ and the boys topped themselves with their tiered fireworks display this year!

And, of course, the day wouldn't have been complete if we didn't have a house full of teenagers {this photo only shows about half of them}!

What did you do for 4th of July? Hope you had a blast!
