There are few things that I love more than a summer Tahoe wedding. So, when Amy + Greg contacted me about planning their Plumpjack Squaw Valley wedding, I was ecstatic. The first thing that they shared with me was that they were on a very tight timeline for planning their wedding. Two months to be exact. Challenge accepted! I absolutely love to plan events in a short timeframe, because the level of excitement stays high for everyone throughout the entire process. One of my favorite parts of planning a wedding is working to get the perfect vendors and details in place. And, with our timeframe, we went to work quickly on building the perfect team and setup.
The inspiration for their day:
Amy picked a palette of soft pinks, white and peach for their day. I love that we stepped up the blush color palette that we see so often just a bit to really make her flowers and other details pop. Amy and Greg were very thoughtful when it came to the details. Within the design, we included custom elements that made the day feel very sentimental, and quite perfect. One of the sweetest inclusions was their dog Kaley, who pretty much stole my heart {and my staff as well!}. Who doesn’t love a the ooh’s and aah’s when a furry pal comes down the aisle?
When the big day arrived:
Amy and Greg had set out to plan a simple, intimate and beautiful wedding with close friends and family. However, their guest list had other plans for us and they ended up with just over 100 guests. But, thanks to the intimate nature of Plumpjack at Squaw Valley, their day still felt cozy and sweet as could be. Plumpjack is absolutely one of my favorite venues in Tahoe. {We are excited for their upcoming remodel this coming spring!}
Nancy Liu Chin made my heart skip a beat with her super sweet floral design. She is truly such a gift and talented artist! Mr DJ Event Services was on site to keep the dance floor packed, which he definitely did. Check out these super sweet images by Karna Roa, who did stunning job of capturing their Plumpjack Squaw Valley wedding on this seriously beautiful August day.
Thank you to Amy and Greg for this amazing review of their Plumpjack Squaw Valley Wedding on Yelp!
“I was extremely fortunate that Aimee was available to help plan a somewhat last-minute destination wedding in Lake Tahoe! I had 2 months to organize what was was supposed to be a wedding with a few dozen people, but which quickly turned into well over 100 people. Aimee to the rescue! She was amazing at referring me to local vendors and helping me prioritize tasks. I was very impressed by her responsiveness, professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to take care of unexpected issues (even those that I didn’t know at the time were occurring).
Although I had chosen the wedding venue site and Aimee independently, the staff at the site knew her well and it was clear that they love working with her because of her expertise–and because she is a lovely person! Even our DJ, whom we hired just a couple weeks before the wedding date, said, “Oh, Aimee is your wedding coordinator? You have nothing to worry about then!” On the day of, she must have been at 3 places at once to make sure everything ran smoothly. Aimee is a sweet and kind person who clearly loves what she does and made me feel absolutely special (and calm) on the big day. I cannot recommend Aimee highly enough!”
