Top 10 of 2010 {#9, Favorite Culturally Infused Wedding}

While working on Amira & Jon’s wedding, I was fortunate to learn about something that was not only new to me, but also intriguing, fun and fantastically festive; The Egyptian Zaffa Ceremony {The Zaffa is a human parade of belly dancers and drummers surrounding the bride and groom, singing/playing happy songs. The bride and groom will occasionally join in the dancing but the main aim is to walk as slowly as possible to the wedding hall. Some Zaffa’s will last an hour}. Amira wanted to bring certain aspects into their wedding that were idicative of her Egyptian heritage, such as the Zaffa and mixing of sand from both Egypt and California. The result was a show stopper that had the entire crowd out of their seats participating in the fun!

Overall, Amira & Jon’s wedding was just so stunning and beautiful {as were the two of them!} It was one of my overall favorites weddings of the year! I heart them madly!
